Camping

"What greater thing is there for human souls than
to feel that they are joined for life -
to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories."
-George Eliot

a little girl, waiting for her turn in a kayak.  another plays quietly in the water.

a snuggle in grandmas arms...

the pout of being left out, the smile of a new adventure...

a paddle to escape the noise....

sharing some peanuts on a rock with your sister...

snuggled with momma under the shade of a hammock...

time with family that lives too far away...

a new life jacket, ready to be worn in....

                                                            laughter at a card game....

                                                                  beautiful sisters...

the gentle prodding of a sister to make you take
the first plunge into the water...

a boy covered in mud, cleaned by the cool of the lake

grandparents, of which we all gather to celebrate...

children corralled around a campfire.  marshmallows toasting and tempting...

the tradition of a corn-hole tournament,
                                                         equipped with cheerleaders...

cousins crammed together on a picnic bench, waiting for their slice of birthday cake....

a baby, finally giving into sleep...

                                                                      a good book...

muddy fingers....

a snuggle with a sweet auntie...

"The heart hath its own memory, like the mind,
and in it are enshrined the precious keepsakes.

These little thoughts are the rustle of leaves;
they leave their whisper of joy in my mind."
-Rabindranath Tagor
